The Central Region’s Mankessim Circuit Court, presided over by Her Honor Gloria Laryea sentenced two teens to 17 years in prison each for robbery.
Emmanuel Arthur, a tricycle rider, and Isaac Antw, a farmer and tricycle rider, are the two; they are both 18 years old.
Shaibu Alidu, a scrap trader and citizen of Moree, complained to the Waakrom town people on July 4, 2022, that he had been attacked and robbed by the young men, according to Mr. Godfred Kofi Adu, the Registrar of the Mankessim Circuit Court, who briefed the media on the matter.
The case’s supervisor, Sergeant John Ahinful-Essel, stated that intelligence acquired by the complainant and residents of Waakrom led to the discovery of the suspects’ hiding place, which led to their arrest, prosecution, and incarceration.
A total of Gh520 and two MTN SIM cards wrapped in polythene were found in the bush in Obiremadzi, a neighborhood of Waakrom in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese District of the Central Region, thanks to the accused people’s assistance in an inquiry.
The robbery scene yielded a black cap, a hand glove, and a fragment of the board.
They were accused of conspiring to conduct two crimes: robbery in violation of Sections 23 and 43 of the Criminal Offenses Act of 1960 (Act 29) and robbery in violation of Section 49 of the same law (Act 29).
