2 arrested for alleged robbery and murder

Two people have been taken into custody by Ashanti South Region police in relation to the robbery and murder of Kofi Mensah, 20, at Tweapease-Aboo in the Ashanti Region.

Following the incident, which was reported to the Bediem District Police Command on October 6, 2025 by the local assembly member, the culprits, Solomon Opoku and Collins Aboagye, were apprehended during intelligence-led operations.

The victim was killed in an attack, and his Haojin motorcycle was taken, according to a police statement released on Saturday, October 11.

It stated that after trying to sell the stolen motorcycle, suspect Solomon Opoku was taken into custody at the Council Quarters in Obuasi four days later, on October 10.

Following further inquiries, police arrived in Kokotesua, which is also in Obuasi, where Collins Aboagye, his accomplice, was captured.

According to police, the stolen motorcycle has now been found, and both suspects have acknowledged committing the crime.

Currently under arrest, the two will appear in court on Monday, October 13, 2025.
