2 suspected armed robbers lynched at Manso Watreso

Following an attempted robbery that targeted gold miners, residents of Manso Watreso in the Ashanti Region’s Amansie South District lynched two suspected armed robbers.

The event took place on January 13, 2025, a Monday.

According to reports, the armed men ambushed miners by blocking a local road, stealing 30 pounds of gold, GHS11,000, and a car key.

However, their plan was partially stopped when neighbors, acting on intelligence, intervened.

Kofi Mensah, the Assembly Member for the area, told media that the youth mobilized promptly and caught two of the four offenders.

The robbers who were caught were immediately lynched.

With the stolen goods, the other two suspects were able to flee.

Manso Edubia police showed up on the site to help the victims and retrieve the remains.

Since then, investigations have been started to catch the escaping individuals and learn more about the occurrence.
