Ghanaians and all interested parties have been reassured by the Electoral Commission that the Certified Voters Register for Election 2024 is solid and trustworthy.

In compliance with Sub-Regulation 4 of Regulation 27 of Constitutional Instrument (C.I.) 91, the Commission distributed soft copies of the Certified Voters Register to all registered political parties and Independent Presidential Candidates on Wednesday, November 6, 2024.

The distribution of the Certified Voters Register on Wednesday also fulfilled the Commission’s promise to the Political Parties at the most recent IPAC meeting on October 15, 2024, that the Certified Voters Register would be made available within the first week of November 2024.

The Commission requested the public to support the Commission in order to hold free, fair, transparent, and credible elections in December 2024 after reassuring all stakeholders that the Certified Voters Register is reliable and strong.

Evans Nimako, the governing New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Director of Research and Elections, added: “We have received this, and we hope that the revised register was 18,772,251 from the last engagement of October 15, 2024.”

“The NPP, I must say, is committed to peace before, during, and after the December 7 general election,” he said.

The summaries of the verified voters register were requested for evaluation by Nana Yaw Sarpong, a representative of independent candidate John Alan Kyerematen, and Dr. Rashid Tanko Computer, the opposition National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) deputy director of elections and information technology.

They said that this would provide them access to crucial information, including the overall breakdown of the total number of voters who are registered.

After hearing the political parties’ concerns, the EC promised to provide them with voter registration summaries.
