The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is warning that divisive techniques that encourage religious discrimination might jeopardize Ghana’s peaceful coexistence and is urging its citizens to oppose such activities.

During his campaign tour, NDC flagbearer John Dramani Mahama spoke at a rally in Kumbungu and stressed that the next elections should be focused on matters that advance national development and progress rather than religious problems.

As a major danger to Ghana’s unity, Mahama voiced alarm about the growing practice of certain political personalities running their campaigns on the basis of their religious affiliation.

In order to preserve the unity of Ghanaian society, he advised people to reject any messages that may cause division.

“The elections should be about the issues that drive development and prosperity for all Ghanaians,” urging people to put policy ahead of religious differences, Mahama said.

In addition, he emphasized the NDC’s dedication to development in all parts of Ghana without bias and urged voters to acknowledge the party’s track record of inclusive advancement.

As the country gets closer to the elections, Mahama emphasized the value of togetherness by urging all Ghanaians to oppose religious discrimination in politics.
