The Ghanaian Electoral Commission (EC) has declared that it will make the general election timetable for 2024 public available by the end of February of 2024.

The announcement of the calendar comes after the Commission decided to stick with the original December 7 election date, even though there had been some discussion about a possible shift in the past.

The Seventh Day Adventist Church’s concerns that the election day would fall on a Saturday, which they observe as a Sabbath day, led to controversy surrounding the proposed change to the election date for the 2024 elections.

In response to inquiries during the Wednesday, February 21 Public Accounts Committee meeting, Dr. Bossman Asare, the Deputy Chair of the Commission, confirmed that the EC would soon make the 2024 election timetable public. He promised that before the end of February 2024, the calendar would be made available to the public.
