45-year-old father of nine children kills himself in Adankwame due to financial difficulties

At Adankwame in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti, a 45-year-old father of nine children allegedly murdered himself due to financial problems, leaving the wife in shock.

According to locals, Mr. Kwasi Agyei had been lamenting his financial difficulty and inability to care for the nine children before his death.

According to reports, the deceased passed away after consuming what was likely poison, leaving his wife, who was unemployed, to care for his nine children.

The deceased’s wife, Akosua Asantewaa, stated that her husband passed away at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in an interview with Ghanatodayonline.com Jacob Agyenim Boateng on Monday, May 8, 2023.

“I have just giving birth to our ninth child and because of that have been livig with my mother in our family house, my late husband visited and asked that i bring him food, i took my time prepared the food and upong geeting to the room i saw him lying on the floor”.

Later, I noticed a liquid on a tiny container that I thought might be poison, so I called for help, and he was taken right away to the hospital.

Now that I have nine children to take care of and no job, I’m just thinking what i will do to support the kids. He died a day after, and we were told that the stuff he consumed was poison.

Madam Akosua Asantewaa stated that in order to get back on her feet and start making ends meet, she will require GHC 2000 to launch her petty trading enterprise.
