57% of New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters want Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to head the party in the 2028 presidential election, according to a recent Global InfoAnalytics research.
If the NPP’s delegates choose a flagbearer for the upcoming election cycle, Dr. Bawumia, the party’s presidential candidate for 2024, is the obvious front-runner.
The poll indicates that Dr. Bawumia has 48% of the total vote in the potential 2028 NPP leadership contest.
Kennedy Agyapong, his nearest competitor, receives 25%, and Dr. Osei Adutwum comes in second with 13%.
A total of 14% of the votes are won by the remaining contenders. With 57% of NPP supporters supporting him, Dr. Bawumia’s lead is even greater than that of Kennedy Agyapong (22%), and Dr. Osei Adutwum (11%).
These results show how powerful Dr. Bawumia is within the party and point to continued support after the 2024 elections.
He seems to have cemented his status as the party’s favored candidate for the upcoming election cycle with his leadership as vice president and current flagbearer.
