Former Trade Minister Mr. Alan Kyerematen’s has put party and nation above self by delaying his campaign trip of the Ashanti region to meet with NPP delegates.
This will make it possible to focus considerably more on the midyear budget review that the president, through his finance minister Ken Ofori Atta, will provide.
The tour of the area, which was originally slated to begin on July 28, 2023, and end on August 3, 2023, has been moved to August 7, 2023, and August 12.
The party and the government should concentrate on the budget in order to ensure that macroeconomic stability measures are included in the budget that will be presented to parliament on July 31, 2023, according to Mr. Kyerematen, who is still the front-runner in the next NPP presidential primary elections.
Because of the hang nature of the Ghanaian parliament, it would take the participation of every member to ensure that the mid-year budget had the broadest possible support from the majority side.
Since Mr. Kyerematen is running for president and enjoys widespread support in the Ashanti area, his trip there might have caused the majority side of parliament to divide its concentration and divert attention away from official business.
