Alan touts his vision, experience and contribution to NPP and Ghana

Hon. John Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, the front-runner in the race for the NPP flagbearership, has reaffirmed his candidacy for the position with assertions that he has more experience, more vision, and has contributed more to the party since 1992 than any of the other nine candidates.

He said that he is the candidate with the most experience for the position of party leader in front of delegates from Ahafo Ano South, South West, and South East on Wednesday during his cluster delegates durbar.

The former trade and industry minister claimed that, as one of the 100 world leaders Time magazine recognized in 1994—alongside the late American president John F. Kennedy and billionaire Bill Gates—he had the potential to improve Ghanaians’ quality of life and create more jobs.

The 1D1F policy, under which about 300 factories are being built and are at various stages of completion, and the Presidential Special Initiatives program (PSI), which created fully integrated agricultural and industrial projects, respectively, under the current Akufo-Addo and former President Kufuor’s administrations, were cited as examples of  “Alan Cash” Hon. Kyerematen’s track record.

At the party’s 2007 primaries, when there was no obvious winner after the first round of voting, he sacrificed to resign in order to spare the party from a potentially polarizing runoff.

Hon Kyerematen said that breaking the eight depends on votes and guaranteed the delegates that if he were awarded the party’s endorsement during the presidential primaries in November, he would receive two million votes from the Ashanti region.

He asserted that he is the next crowd-pleaser capable of providing the NPP with the necessary numbers to break the 8 in 2024, succeeding former President Kufuor and current President Nana Akufo-Addo.

As a result, he urged the delegates to rely on his expertise, insight, and contributions and to entrust him with the task of leading the party to break the eight and build the next NPP administration.

Alan Kyerematen was referred to as the third NPP president of the 4th Republic in a speech made at the same gathering by Hon. Saddique Boniface, coordinator of the “Alan for President” campaign and a former minister for Zongos and inner-city development as well as a former member of parliament for Madina.

Insisting that everyone vote for Alan, Hon. Boniface predicted that Muslims from the Northern areas and the Zongo constituency will do so in large numbers.

He claimed that the North regions’ delegates were impassioned about their selection of Alan as the party’s next leader, which indicated that he has the patience and ability to bring people together that the NPP required to break the 8 in the 2024 elections.
