Flash floods in Kumasi killed a 5-year-old girl in Moshie Zongo

According to reports, a five-year-old child has died after being swept away by flash floods at Moshie Zongo in the Ashanti metropolis of Kumasi.

Residents of the neighborhood claim that the deceased, whose name has not yet been discovered, was carried away by floods on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, following a significant downpour.

After the intense downpour, the girl, a student of Ethiopia International School at Pankrono Estate, was found floating in a gutter.

The girl had already left school and was on her way home, according to Nana Adu, a local resident.

“We do not know the circumstances leading to her drowning, all we saw was her lifeless body floating in the drain in tarted school uniform”.

“We rushed to pick her up, but she was confirmed dead by health professionals at a nearby hospital “.
