The initial audio provided to the committee appears to have been altered, according to the ad hoc committee looking into the Bugri Naabu tape that was released and features a discussion about the removal of the Inspector General of Police (IGP).

The second recordings it got, according to the message, is longer than the previous one.

The second recording, according to Committee Chairman Samuel Atta Akyea, is far lengthier than the first, which was played during the committee’s first meeting.

It said that further information seemed to be on the second tape as well.

This was said by Mr. Atta Akyea in an interview to the media following a closed-door session today.

The infamous tape that was leaked has sparked a lot of discussion. In a prior appearance before the committee, Bugri Naabu attested to the veracity of the tape.

Bugri Naabu, COP Alex Mensah, and Supt. George Asare are heard speaking on the recording along with Bugri Naabu.

They talk about strategies for getting rid of the IGP, with the purported goal of replacing him with an IGP who will support the NPP and help it win the 2024 elections.

Dr. Akuffo Dampare passionately refuted the accusations brought against him by the implicated police officers during his appearance before the committee on Tuesday.

He emphasized how his family had experienced great hardship as a result of these unsupported charges.

Furthermore, Dampare denied any participation in a plot to covertly record discussions between the three police officers.

The MP Samuel Atta Akyea’s suspicions add a new level of complexity to the ongoing investigation into the audio that was released, emphasizing the need for a careful analysis of the facts before any judgments are made.
