The National Democratic Congress (NDC), according to Mr. Adamu Musa Raha, the Eastern regional youth coordinator for the New Patriotic Party, is employing a misleading rationale to support its stance on the limited registration drive.
The youth organizer claims that while the NDC is urging a judge to enjoin the exercise in one breadth, they are actively recruiting supporters to register in another breadth.
On Wednesday, Mr. Adamu Musa Raha interacted over the phone with Kaakyire Kwasi Afari of the Ghana Nsempa morning show on Koforidua’s Afeema FM.
The regional youth organizer described the main opposition NDC as the most disorganized and confused political party in the country as far as the limited registration is concerned.
Because Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the chairman of the opposition NDC, invited all eligible NDC members to participate in the ongoing limited registration operation despite their adamant opposition, he claimed that Nketia is unsuitable to head the party due to his inconsistencies.
“infact the NDC is a confused and most disorganized party in Ghana now. At one breadth they want to paint the EC black before Ghanaians and in another breadth, their chairman is calling on their supporters to register” Adamu stated.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is not a real political party, according to Adamu Musa Raha, and Ghanaians should not take them seriously in the impending general elections in 2024.
The regional youth organizer recalled how the NDC government of John Mahama was marked by power shortages, poor leadership, and economic mismanagement that caused unimaginable hardship for Ghanaians.
Adamu Musa Raha expressed his impressions of the first day of the restricted registration drive across the region and expressed hope that the numbers will rise in the coming days.
However, he admitted that the exercise in some constituencies in the Eastern region halted for few hours as EC’s biometric machines failed to work due to poor internet connectivity and intermittent power supply.
In order to facilitate more eligible voters registering, he has encouraged the Electoral Commission to extend the time frame for the restricted voter’s registration operations.
In order to facilitate a smooth process and lessen the load on the populace in their effort to register, he also urged the EC to make its machinery useful for the registration exercise in all of the district offices.
He has since praised party members and operatives for their proper behavior.
Finally, the party’s youth section in the region urged all eligible voters to utilize the brief voter registration period to get their names on the electoral roll.
