Kennedy Agyapong, the flagbearer candidate for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has publicly apologized to former president John Dramani Mahama, who is also the nominee for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the general elections of 2024.
Mr. Agyapong expressed sorry for his behavior and admitted that he had been harsh with Mahama in both his words and deeds.
Mahama was referred to as a “wonderful gentleman” by Mr. Agyapong, who also acknowledged that he had not always handled Mahama fairly.
He continued by saying that after some thought, he realized he had been unfair and wanted to sincerely apologize to Mahama.
Agyapong acknowledges that people can make errors and should be open to forgiveness and understanding in his public apology, showing a commitment to mend bridges and advance more respectful debate in the political sphere.
