At the sixth annual HR Focus Awards, which were hosted in Accra, MTN Ghana was honored for outstanding HR and employee excellence.

Following its 2019 induction into the HR Focus Hall of Fame, MTN still exhibits excellence in HR practice.  In the following categories this year, MTN was named the Best Large Organization:

  • Employee Relations Practice
  • Rewards Management Practice
  • Performance Management
  • Employer Branding

MTN won the HR Team of the Year Award in the Special Awards Category for using innovative practices, new methods of working, and a distinctive approach to all facets of HR Management.

The company won six honors in total at the 2023 HR Focus honors, and MTN continued to hold its place in the HR Hall of Fame for the second time in a row.

Selorm Adadevoh, the Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana, commented on the accolades, “I am super proud of Amma Benneh-Amponsah, the Chief Human Resources Officer, and her team for always making us proud. The HR Team has been consistent in always employing best practices to ensure employees are well motivated and equipped to always give off their best to the success of the organization.”

“The hard work and dedication of our employees are as a result of the best polices and initiatives Amma and her team have put in place to make MTN the employer of choice and the best place to work,” he added.

Abdallah Ibrahim, Lead Specialist, HR Planning & Analytics, spoke at the awards ceremony and praised HR Focus for organizing the event to recognize excellence and for using it to draw attention to the HR profession. MTN would keep putting its people first in whatever it does, he promised. Our employees are our pillar, and the accolades we have received demonstrate that MTN is on the right track in its treatment of them. The HR department will keep acting as a strategic business partner.

He gave the prizes to all MTN employees as a thank you for their steadfast support of the company.

Every two years, HR Focus Africa hosts the HR Focus Awards. “The HR Mandate; Building Resilient People and Businesses” served as the theme for this year’s conference and awards ceremony.  Since taking part in the awards ceremony in 2013, MTN has won 30 prizes in total.
