Fire razes down 21-bedroom house at Anloga

Over fifty people have been forced to flee their home after a fire on Friday, October 27, in Anloga, the Oforikrom Municipality of the Ashanti Region, destroyed 21 beds in a compound house.

The fire has also destroyed properties valued at thousands of Ghana cedis.

While the source of the fire is still being looked into, fire officials estimate that it began at around 10 a.m. and took more than an hour to contain.

“We are investigating the fire and have not yet determined its cause, but we are working on it. It will be released later. Before they alerted the GNFS, the fire had been going for a longer time.

“We got the call at 9:05 a.m. and reached this location at 10 a.m. The call to GNFS was placed at a late hour, affecting 21 bedrooms. There are 21 bedrooms in one house,” he remarked.

The displaced residents are currently looking for temporary housing with relatives and friends.
