The Ashanti Region’s 35,732 delegates are anticipated to cast ballots in the NPP presidential primaries.
There will be elections in each of the Region’s 47 constituencies on November 4, 2023.
In an interview in Kumasi, Ashanti Regional Research and Elections Officer Stephen Owusu told the media that the region was ready and that all required procedures had been followed to guarantee transparent, peaceful, free, and fair elections.
He claimed that the Elections Committee and all of the presidential candidates have previously endorsed the party’s rules and procedures for the elections.
He noted that all of the candidates had been acting professionally while on their campaign trail in the area and expressed the optimism that the party’s united front would hold.
There would be four contenders vying to be the flag-bearer for the president.
Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, a former minister of agriculture, Mr. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, a member of parliament for Assin Central, Mr. Addai Nimo, a former member of parliament for Asante Mampong, and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia are among them.
