According to Deputy Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, Ghanaians must never again endure an economy similar to that of John Mahama.
He believes that the Akufo-Addo administration’s economic growth achievements cannot be compared to those of the Mahama administration.
He cited the construction of twelve landing beach locations, such as Dixcove, Keta, and Effutu Winneba, by the Akufo-Addo administration along the coastal zone.
Effutu, a member of parliament, said, “Never again to Mahama-Ato Forson-Seth Terkper economy” during a Wednesday, November 22, debate on the 2024 budget in Parliament.
Afenyo-Markin went on to call the Akufo-Addo administration a compassionate one.
He claimed that despite Ghanaians’ economic hardships, all state institutions receive financial support to adequately staff the entities that report to them.
“All institutions of state are getting their support to run their departments and agencies,” he said.
“This is a caring government that has walked the talk” Afenyo added.
Speaking on the cleansing of the banking industry, he stated that the government made the choice to preserve both the jobs and the lives of Ghanaians.
Had it not been for the financial sector cleanup effort, he claimed more Ghanaians would have lost their lives and their careers.
“More than GHC 25 billion to bolster the banking industry.” While some Ghanaians lost their lives, more people were kept employed by government decisions than would have happened if the NDC had been in power, according to Mr. Afenyo-Markin.
