The unauthorised sale of goods to new students enrolled in the Ghana Senior High School (GHANASS) in Koforidua, the Eastern Regional Capital, has been brought to the attention of the Ghana Education Service (GES).

This was stated in a letter from the Eastern Regional Director for Education, Ivy Asantewa Owusu, to the school’s Headmistress, Patience Naki Mensah, dated Thursday, December 7, 2023.

“Ceremonial cloth” at GHS200, “track suits” at GHS250, and other items are allegedly being sold to first-year students, according to the GES.

“You are, therefore, being asked to step aside with effect from 7 December 2023, for further investigation to be conducted into the allegations,” the governing body noted in its letter.
