At Ayigya in the Oforikrom Municipality of the Ashanti, a 22-year-old housekeeper is accused of killing her boss after robbing her of over $5,600.
After the deceased, Magaret Oppong, questioned the suspect regarding the missing money, the suspect who has only been identified as Maame Akua allegedly killed her 83-year-old Madam.
The 83-year-old woman was killed at dawn while she was asleep, according to sources close to the family.
Speaking Tuesday, January 2, 2024, to OTEC News Reporters Jacob Agyenim Boateng and Kofi Dwaah Appiah, the deceased’s son, Mr. Kwame Boateng disclosed that during police questioning, the suspect admitted to killing his mother.
“She told police that she plotted with her boyfriend to get rid of our mother after she (My mother) kept questioning her about the constant missing dollars in the house”.
“My mother has children outside the country and so we send her money from time to time, she lost 32,000 dollars, then followed 18,000 and later 200 and 400 dollars respectively. “
“My upon suspicion that the house help was behind the missing monies my mother threatened to arrest her if she fails to return the amount”
The suspect allegedly let her boyfriend into the house, harassed my mother in her room, and killed her before she could take action.
The suspect has been detained, Mr. Boateng continued, and he will appear before the Asokwa District Court on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.
