Chef Failatu has officially completed her cook-a-thon after 227 hours of cooking

After ten days in the kitchen, Ghanaian chef Failatu Abdul-Razak successfully finished a 227-hour cook-a-thon attempt.

At the Modern City Hotel in Tamale, the Ghanaian chef made an attempt to break the current Guinness World Record.

Failatu demonstrated remarkable culinary prowess during the long cooking session, crafting a wide variety of dishes in the midst of a vibrant cultural exhibition by the Northern Region’s populace.

Supporters at the location celebrated the accomplishment as the stopwatch reached the 227th hour on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.

 

On New Year’s Day, chef Failatu Abdul Razak began his attempt to shatter the record for the longest cooking marathon.

Warmly embraced by her assistant, Malik Eric, an emotional Faila could not contain her tears of disbelief at what she had just accomplished.

She set out to break Alan Fisher’s official 119-hour record, but instead accomplished an amazing 227 hours, 00 minutes, and 02 seconds.

Ugandan chef Dorcus Mirembe, also referred to as Mama D, cooked for 144 hours just days before her showdown and is currently awaiting confirmation from Guinness World Records.

Faila’s marathon has been recognized by the Guinness World Record, which also stated that “we look forward to reviewing her evidence.”
