On Wednesday, January 24, 2024, a march towards the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) 24-hour Economy policy is planned, with former President John Mahama expected to lead the march.

The District Level Elections caused the walk to be rescheduled from its original December 2023 date.

According to Secretary Dr. Frank Amoakohene, the NDC leadership of the Ashanti Region has confirmed that all preparations are complete for the occasion.

Raising awareness of the policy among the local population is the aim of the walk.

In addition to Mr. Mahana, other well-known individuals who are anticipated to take part in the march are regional executives under the direction of Regional Chairman Augustus Andrews Nana Akwasi and Johnson Asiedu Nketia of the NDC.

The procession will traverse Kumasi’s main streets, culminating at the Kumasi Jubilee Park, where speakers, including John Mahama, will address the audience.

“The planned route for the walk is as follows: Aboabo Post Office, through Pelele to On-the-ran to Manhyia Hospital, proceeding to Alabar Street, Kejetia Roundabout, Hello FM, A-life, Asafo Overpass, Labour Roundabout, and concluding at Jubilee Park,” stated a press release.

The NDC flagbearer’s agenda includes going on the “Building the Ghana We Want Tour,” where he will interact with various community sectors, including students, artisans, organized labor, and traders.

Through these community engagements, the former president hopes to address community issues, share his vision, and get firsthand input from people on the ground.
