The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Wontumi, must appear before the Kumasi Traditional Council (KTC) in seven days.
As a result of the management of Wontumi TV/Radio and well-known lawyer Maurice Ampaw’s alleged offensive remarks against the chiefs, the council has also ordered that they appear before it.
Following his alleged offensive remarks against Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the party stalwart, the delegation of the party met at the Manhyia Palace on Monday, January 22.
Unfortunately, the council learned that Wontumi was ill and could not travel to the Palace.
The powerful delegation was led by Justin Kodua, the general secretary of the NPP, who prayed that the council would adjourn for the next two weeks.
But the council rejected that and decided to postpone the meeting until Monday, January 29.
On the council’s behalf, Bantamahene delivered its decision.
