The winner of the NPP Bekwai parliamentary primary is lawyer Ralph Opoku Adusei.
The results, announced by the Bekwai Electoral Commission Officer, show that Adusei put up a strong showing, garnering 662 votes, or 70% of the total votes cast.
With 245 votes (26%), COP George Alex Mensah (RTD) came in last, followed by Henry Opoku Adusei with 30 votes (3%) and Kingsley Opoku Agyeman with 1 vote (0.001%). There were two invalid votes.
Delegates ultimately favored Ralph Poku-Adusei, even though the current MP publicly endorsed retired COP Alex Mensah.
It’s important to remember that the retired police officer was allegedly involved in a plot to remove the Inspector General of Police in order to rig the 2024 election for the ruling party, according to a contentious audio leak controversy.
