Dr. Mustapha Ahmed, a former minister of youth and sports, passed away.
On February 7, a Wednesday, the 63-year-old passed away. As of yet, the cause of death is unknown.
From 2001 to 2016, Dr. Ahmed represented the Ayawaso North Constituency as a Member of Parliament (MP).
In March 2015, then-President John Dramani Mahama appointed him as the Minister of Youth and Sports, replacing Bawku Central MP Mahama Ayariga.
But in a subsequent cabinet shuffle, Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye took his place.
Sammy Gyamfi, the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) communications officer, confirmed the news by saying, “I heard the news late last night.” I was shocked to learn that. He had a strong enthusiasm for Ghana. Allow me to take this opportunity to offer the family our sincere condolences on behalf of the NDC.
