Members of Parliament have engaged thirty-two participants from the National College of Defense Studies, Burma Camp, regarding the legislative role in promoting policies and activities related to national security, economic development, and environmental conservation.
The officers and members of Parliament also discussed how Parliament assists the executive arm of Government in advancing national stability and development as well as the distribution of funds for environmental initiatives.
Emmanuel Marfo, the MP for Oforikrom and Chairman of the Committee on Environment, Science, and Technology, as well as Hon. Ibrahim Ahmed, the MP for Banda and Deputy Minority Whip, led the discussion. Mr. Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror, the Deputy Clerk, addressed misunderstandings regarding Members of Parliament’s role as community development agents by sharing his experiences and knowledge in legislative functions.
The team’s commander, Maj Gen Irvine Nii-Aryitey Aryeetey, gave a citation in appreciation of the honor bestowed upon them and expressed gratitude for the knowledge shared.
