The late Deputy Finance Minister, Lawyer John Ampontuah Kumah, was traveling to an Accra hospital for treatment when he passed away at Suhum, according to his spokesperson, Mr. Kwasi Owusu Twumasi.

He claims that on March 7, 2024, the deputy minister passed away in an ambulance beside his wife and personal physician.

He said that the late Ejisu MP was scheduled to travel to Germany for medical care, but that once his condition deteriorated, he had to be sent to the hospital immediately.

Speaking with Kwame Agyenim Boateng of OTEC News on Thursday, Mr. Twumasi said that the late MP’s passing was a terrible loss to the Ejisu Constituency.

He characterizes him as one of the sincere and altruistic leaders who has positively impacted the constituents.

Hundreds of mourners from the Ejisu Constituency have gathered at the late Deputy Finance Minister John Ampontuah Kumah’s home to offer their condolences to his family.

Visuals from the Ejisu residence of the late Deputy Minister of Finance, John Kumah, show what can be described as a heavily distraught atmosphere.

Our reporter Kwame Agyenim Boateng visited the family house and reported that the people who were gathered there could be heard wailing loudly, while a number of them paced about on the open compound.

Some of the wailing women could be seen in black and red attires.
