Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin has been formally notified of the passing of late Ejisu MP and Deputy Finance Minister John Kumah by his family.
On Tuesday, March 19, 2024, there was a courtesy call.
On behalf of Mr. Bagbin and the Parliament, the grieving family was met by Joseph Osei Owusu, First Deputy Speaker and Member for Bekwai.
At the Suhum Government Hospital, John Kumah passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024, following a brief illness.
With his wife, Apostle Mrs. Lilian Kumah, and six children still living, he leaves behind a legacy of being a loving family man.
As the National entrepreneurial and Innovation Programme’s (NEIP) first CEO, Dr. Kumah was instrumental in establishing NEIP as a major participant in Ghana’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Under his direction, the Presidential Business Support Program at NEIP educated 7,000 businesses in 2018 and gave 1,350 recipients financial support.
Prior to taking up his government position, Dr. Kumah founded Majak Associates Ltd., a building and construction company, and served as Managing Partner and founding member of Aduaprokye Chambers, a legal firm.
