After serving for a year, Mr. Bernard Aborkugya Mensah, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Krachi East, passed away.
According to a report by Ghana News Agency, the MCE was giving a matriculation address at the Dambai College of Education on Friday morning when he suddenly passed out. He was taken to the Dambai Health Center immediately after.
After that, the WoraWora Government Hospital was consulted for additional care, however upon his arrival, the patient was declared deceased.
However, hospital administrators are keeping quiet about the occurrence.
The incidence was verified on the party’s platform by Mr. Kingsley Okuneggy, the communication officer for the Krachi East New Patriotic Party.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo selected the 60-year-old dead to succeed the late MCE, Francis Kofi Okesu, who passed away in September 2022.
Mr. Mensah served as the New Patriotic Party’s constituency chairman in the Krachi East Municipality in the past.
According to a close source who spoke with the GNA, the deceased’s widow also passed away after learning the news and is presently being admitted to the same WoraWora hospital.
