“Let us not create a picture that we have already won. I would like to caution everybody that we have not won yet. We are on the way to victory but let’s guard against complacency,” National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman warn supporters.
Johnson Asiedu Nkatiah, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman, has issued a warning to those who thought they would be kingmakers in the upcoming administration.
Speaking to the party’s grassroots at the official outdooring flag bearer John Mahama’s running mate’s speech at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), he counseled those who believe they will have decision-making authority in an NDC government to refrain from making such statements.
“Because we’re convinced that we are there, a lot of people have begun taking positions and fighting over who will be what in the next government. Some people are not only fighting about the positions they will occupy. They are telling all others that they will be the kingmakers and they will be making appointments.
“If we’re not careful, this will dampen the enthusiasm and the spirit of our followers. I want to assure everybody that we’re not there yet. Don’t be fighting about positions, and don’t be talking about who will make appointments. Let’s all go for the hunting first and when we kill the game we can now argue about sharing of the meat,” Mr. Nketiah stated.
He advised that such persons should rather channel their energy into working hard for the victory of the NDC.
“We are happy that the polls are projecting a massive victory for us. But I like to caution that polls result alone don’t constitute a victory for any political party. I want us to guard against the risk of complacency.
