Richard Ahiagbah, the Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), was approved by the District Registration Review Committee in Ketu South and is now in possession of a voter ID card.
Recently, rumors that Ahiagbah tried to register twice for the ongoing restricted voter registration drive went viral on social media.
Ahiagbah did clarify, nevertheless, in a statement dated May 12 that he had been a Ketu South voter since 2000.
He clarified that during the 2023 restricted voter registration drive, he had problems with his biometrics and was told to fix the issue in future registration drives.
As a result, he had to go before the District Registration Review Committee to have his registration eligibility confirmed.
After the committee’s ruling, Ahiagbah celebrated his vindication on X, formerly known as Twitter, by expressing his appreciation and relief.
“I appeared before the District Registration Review Committee to obtain my voter ID due to a needless registration challenge.
“A big thank you to the National Organizer, Nana Boakye, the Volta Regional Chairman, Makafui Kofi Woanyah, and the constituency party for their support.
It’s possible!” he wrote on his social media handle.
