The MTN Ghana Foundation has declared that on May 31, 2024, it would cease accepting applications for its Bright Scholarship program. Before the application deadline, eligible candidates who fulfill all requirements are advised to apply online at scholarship.mtn.com.gh.
Any continuing student seeking a first degree at any public postsecondary school or pursuing training in vocational and technical skills is eligible to apply for the MTN Bright Scholarship. Applicants must be of good moral character, be from Ghana, and have achieved great academic success.
The recipients of the MTN Bright Scholarship receive a device in addition to a stipend for books, housing, and tuition. For the 2024–2025 academic year, 200 scholarships will be given by the MTN Ghana Foundation to continuing students at public tertiary institutions around the nation.
Adwoa Wiafe, MTN’s Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer, commented on the scholarship, stating, “we have doubled the number of beneficiaries this year because of the compelling needs in the society. We are confident that this will ease the financial burden on needy students and reduce the number of students dropping out of school due to financial constraints.”
With the launch of the MTN Bright Scholarship in 2018, MTN fulfilled a promise it made to Ghanaians in 2016 as part of the celebration of its 20th anniversary. In the course of the festivities, MTN made a commitment to distribute 300 scholarships over the course of three years via the MTN Ghana Foundation. The MTN Ghana Foundation once more authorized the scholarship program’s extension in 2021 during MTN’s 25th anniversary celebration after taking the program’s effects into account after the first three years of the program.
