Disregard the fake news, IGP has not been asked to proceed on leave – Ghana Police Service

The Ghana Police Service has stated that it has been aware of certain media stories implying that Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, the Inspector-General of Police, has been requested to take a leave of absence.

In contrast to what has been reported, the IGP and Police are still on duty.

“We would like to urge the public to disregard this fake news and treat same with the contempt it deserves,” in a statement issued on Sunday, June 30,2024.

“The Inspector-General of Police remains committed to his patriotic duty of leading the Ghana Police Service as per the mandate given him by the President of the Republic”
