MTN Ghana holds 2024 edition of ethics and fraud awareness forum for vendors, suppliers and business partners

MTN Ghana has arranged a forum on ethics and fraud prevention for its suppliers, vendors, and business partners at MTN House in Accra.

The forum’s topics this year included MTN’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) policies, data security and privacy, combating corruption and bribery, and the significance of moral corporate conduct.

MTN Ghana CEO Stephen Blewett stressed the company’s dedication to honesty and its zero-tolerance policy for unethical behavior in his speech to the attendees. He emphasized the need of transparency, shared accountability, and the requirement that corporations operate morally.

He also invited suppliers and vendors to offer their ideas on how MTN may enhance its working environment in order to guarantee long-term success.

During the event, several facilitators conducted interesting sessions. Adwoa Wiafe, Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer at MTN Ghana, introduced participants to MTN’s Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives. She emphasized the importance of sustainable business practices and social responsibility. Ms. Wiafe encouraged participants to embrace ESG principles for a sustainable future and improved organizational integrity.

During his presentation on employment standards and best practices in managing professionals, Abdallah Ibrahim, Acting Chief Human Resources Officer, emphasized the importance of maintaining high employee standards and the need for creating a fair and safe workplace. He promised to support participants with initiatives and policies aimed at improving employer-employee relationships.

Ronald Darkwah, Privacy and Data Protection Specialist at MTN Ghana, emphasized the importance of maintaining data privacy and protection standards to build trust.

In her submission, Linda Asamoah, Proactive Fraud Analyst in MTN Ghana, emphasized the importance of regular fraud identification and prevention training. She also stressed the need for collaboration to enforce zero tolerance to bribery and corruption across MTN’s eco-system and encouraged partners to make use of MTN’s whistleblowing channel.

Business sustainability is predicated on trust, according to Emelia Asiedu Attoh, Senior Manager for Ethics at MTN Ghana. She exhorted attendees to engage in ethical business and to assist MTN in its endeavors and dedication to moral business conduct.

In order to regularly educate vendors, suppliers, and business partners on ethics, anti-fraud, codes of conduct, and best practices, among other topics, the Ethics and Fraud Awareness Forum was established. The sixth version of the workshop’s theme was “Building Trust: Integrity in Vendor Relationships and Responsible Business Practices.” This year, there were more than sixty participants of the forum.
