Sariki Alhaji Abubakar Omar, the national vice president of the Council of Zongo Chiefs, has urged with Muslims and Zongo residents to prioritize paying their children’s school tuition above purchasing big smocks for every occasion that comes their way.
The request was made in an interview conducted on the sidelines of the annual council meeting of the Akyem Abuakwa Council of Zongo Chiefs, which took place on Sunday, August 14, 2022, in Kyebi, in the Eastern region.
They talked about the Muslim Council, Muslim welfare, and problems facing Muslims and Zongo residents before offering some options to help deal with the problem.
The youngsters in a role-play depicted how some parents would buy enormous smocks for every event but would not pay the least amount of money needed for their children’s education, according to Alhaji Abubakar Omar, who also serves as the president of the Eastern regional Council of Zongo Chiefs.
The Minority Leader in Parliament, Dr. Bawumia of Ghana, and other well-known Muslim leaders are encouraging Muslims in Zongos to take their education seriously.
Alhaji Abubakar Omar used the chance to make a statement about the alleged terrorist threat against Ghana and urged all Muslim organizations in the nation to lead the “if you see something, say something” campaign to reveal alleged terrorist organizations in Zongo communities in order to stop terrorist attacks.
He claimed that because Islam is a peaceful faith, Zongo villages shouldn’t longer be a location where violent individuals may gather and pay people to carry out their goals.
The vice president of the National Council of Zongo Chiefs urged Muslims to ponder on the day and give it a deeper significance by respecting Islamic principles.
He emphasized that it is important to not take for granted the peaceful coexistence of all sects.
The dual president of the Akyem Abuakwa Council of Zongo Chiefs, Alhaji Omar, once more urged politicians to refrain from inciting unrest among young people prior to, during, and after elections.
To him, though it is imperative that the youth are not exploited, he blamed some of these young ones for allowing themselves to be used by these politicians.
“If they come to you to ask you to follow them to do something untoward, ask them, where are your children?”
“they will use and dump you after getting the power…… when you go to them for employment afterwards, they will ask for your qualification but they did they ask for your qualification before hiring you to do their evil agenda? he asked.
Alhaji Omar called on the youth to eschew acts that will destabilize the peaceful atmosphere in the country especially during election period.
