Claims that Ghanaian chef Ebenezer Smith holds the new record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual have been denied by Guinness World Records.

This relates to an official inquiry that Asaase Radio sent to GWR following Chef Smith’s announcement of his new record at a press conference in Accra on Tuesday, July 2.

“No, it is not true. It is not our certificate and he does not have Guinness World Record title… The one who holds the record now is Alan Fisher. So, he has 119 hours 57 minutes and 16 secs,” Madalyn Bielfeld PR manager of Guinness World Records stated.

On February 1st, Chef Ebenezer Smith started his cook-a-thon with the goal of breaking the previous record.
