As his term as president of Ghana draws to a close in five months, President Akufo-Addo says that his last task as president would be to supervise a free and fair election in the next polls in December.
He emphasized his dedication to accomplishing this aim with the help of all Ghanaians during a senior citizens luncheon at the Jubilee House.
“The last major challenge for me is to preside over peaceful and fair elections in December, and that is a commitment,” he stated.
He feels that Ghanaians should have the greatest conditions possible to freely select their next president and members of parliament.
In addition, President Akufo-Addo reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining Ghana’s standing as an example of democracy in both Africa and the global community.
As for President Akufo-Addo, he has promised that when his term as president comes to an end, he would step down without difficulty.
He emphasized his determination to carry on his predecessor’s legacy of peacefully relinquishing power when his term in office is up.
