As the country gets closer to the 2024 general election, Inspector General of Police George Akuffo Dampare has urged the political parties to cooperate.

On Friday, August 2, 2024, while visiting the Old EC main office in Ridge, Accra, with members of the police management board to inspect the security setup on the premises, he revealed this information.

The visit’s objective was to evaluate the safety protocols for the ongoing mop-up voter registration campaign.

During a conversation with agents from political parties, the IGP expressed happiness to see the agents collaborating amicably.

“We are all working together, So let’s keep to that. It’s about Ghana, it’s about Africa. It’s about us today and our children tomorrow. So we owe it to ourselves to be responsible and work together in peace and allow God to decide”.

“Let’s accomplish our work in this life without fighting among ourselves, because we can coexist peacefully,” he said. I thus hope all goes well for you and am glad to see you all collaborating. You’ve been dining together, I know that.

“We are so happy to see you work together to make Ghana proud. We work together to make Africa proud. We work together and make the Black man proud. Thank you very much” the IGP added.
