Hajia Maurijaanatu Muhammed, the Queen Mother of the Akyem Abuakwa Council of Zongo Chiefs in the Eastern Region, has urged Ghanaians to assist children who have been abandoned by their parents for no fault of their own.

She underlined that young kids depend on caretakers, end up in orphanages, and lose contact with their real relatives.

The Queen Mother is pleading for financial assistance to care for orphans in an effort to meet the requirements of orphans in Akyem Abuakwa and the Eastern Region as a whole.

The Queen Mother emphasized the need for help in order to provide these youngsters a sense of love and importance, while also highlighting the considerable financial constraints associated with operating an orphanage.

Mrs. Maurijaanatu Muhammed encouraged people to feel a sense of responsibility towards orphans, helping to alleviate their loneliness and grief and enabling them to feel part of society.

During a visit to the Jehova Orphanage in Suhum, Hajia Maurijaanatu donated essential items, including food, toiletries, toys, and clothing.

The donations by the Akyem Abuakwa Council of Zongo Chiefs were supported by Matan Arewa, a group in Anyinam Zongo and the Zongo Queen Mother of Anyinam.

She also got children involved in entertaining games and competitions, including eating and dancing.

Mrs. Muhammad stressed the need of being kind and compassionate toward those who are less fortunate, especially orphans.

She promised to keep helping the orphanage and said that her contribution was driven by a compassionate desire to support the weak and give back to society.

Recently, Mrs. Maurijaanatu Muhammad generously donated 400 packs of prepared food for children and 50 packs for teachers and staff members at Akyem Osino Islamic Basic School, demonstrating her dedication to improving education and the welfare of children.
