“I expect men who will show passion and desire to play for Ghana” – GFA Boss to Black Stars players

Kurt Okraku, the president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has voiced his dissatisfaction with Ghana’s lackluster performances in the midst of their pivotal doubleheader against Sudan, emphasizing their aspirations of qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Following a humiliating home loss to Angola and a 1-1 draw with Niger to start the Black Stars campaign, Ghana was left with just one point out of a potential six.

The squad has to play better to hold onto their spot in the 2025 AFCON competition in Morocco. They are presently one point behind in Group F.

He expressed his displeasure with what he saw as a lack of emotion on the field and pushed the team to give it their best for the nation in his speech to the group.

“The minimum I expect, the minimum Ghana expects, is a team of boys or men who will show passion and desire to play for our country,” Mr Okraku stated.

“Not when you are dribbled and you will be seen walking on the pitch and the ball is heading towards your net. That is impossible, I told the coach.”

But he stressed that players should feel proud to wear the national shirt, and it should motivate them to play with intensity and a desire to win.

He went on “It’s either you guys decide to die for Ghana or decide you will not, then you’ll never be selected,”.

On Thursday, October 10, Black Stars will play Sudan at Accra Sports Stadium. On October 15, they will go to Libya for the encounter.
