NPP is bias in development allocation – Mahama

The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has come under fire from National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John Dramani Mahama for allegedly giving regional developments priority based on their electoral support.

He contends that this strategy undercuts equal development nationwide by ignoring regions that did not support the NPP in elections.

On Monday, November 4, Mahama made these statements while on a tour of the Oti Region.

John Mahama addressed these worries by denouncing what he called regional inequalities in resource distribution and promising to give the Oti Region’s development top priority if he were elected president again.

He stated in Biakoye that President Akufo-Addo has accepted the possibility that his party may lose the next election.

“NPP failed to build the regional hospitals because Krachi East indigenes didn’t vote for them. NDC will uphold its promise to Krachi East in terms of infrastructure.”

Monday marked the start of the NDC presidential candidate’s two-day tour of the Oti Region.

When he stopped at Dambai, Krachi East, chiefs and party members greeted him with open arms.

Nana Mprah Besemuna III, the chief of Dambai, emphasized the region’s lack of development and urged John Mahama, should he be elected in the December elections, to give development projects top priority.
