The Ejura Traditional Council in the Ashanti Region has generously donated a Toyota Pickup worth 170,000 Ghana Cedis to the Ghana Armed Forces.
Led by Ejurahene Barimah Osei Hwedie II, this initiative aims to provide essential logistics for Army officers at the Ejura Military Barracks.
The barracks, which is yet to be officially opened, was made possible by Ejurahene Barimah Osei Hwedie II’s contribution of a vast land with existing buildings.
Following this gesture, the government and traditional authority collaborated to develop the site into a military base.
Speaking to Ghanatodayonline.com Reporter Jacob Agyenim Boateng on Friday, November 8, 2024, Ejurahene Barimah Osei Hwedie II emphasized the traditional authority’s commitment to partnering with state agencies for accelerated development.
He highlighted that the vehicle will facilitate smoother operations for military officers.
Notably, members of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) at Ejura supported this initiative by contributing 80,000 cedis, while the Ejura Traditional Council provided the remaining 90,000 cedis.
Ejurahene Barimah Osei Hwedie II expressed gratitude to his Council members for their support.
This donation comes as part of broader efforts to enhance the Ghana Armed Forces’ capabilities.
