Ahead of the elections on December 7, the Electoral Commission (EC) will begin delivering ballots around the country today, Thursday, November 14.
The EC notified the political party general secretaries of the distribution timetable in a letter dated November 13.
Today, the Greater Accra Region will begin the first phase, and on Friday, November 15, the Central, Western, Savannah, and Upper West Regions will follow.
Ballot papers will be distributed to the Ashanti, Ahafo, and Western North Regions on Saturday, November 16.
This is the next stage of the EC’s month-long preparations, which also included training election officers, assigning polling stations, and finalizing voter registration.
Until election day, the ballots will be kept in safe police facilities in all regions. To maintain transparency, they will be turned over to officials on election day while party members are present.
Strict security measures are in place to safeguard the integrity of the election process and stop manipulation or illegal access, the EC has told the public.
