By today, November 26, the Electoral Commission (EC) has promised that all ballots will be distributed to every region of the nation.
By the end of the weekend, the biometric verification devices will be in place.
The EC claims that ballots have been distributed to 13 regions, with Northern, Bono, and Bono East still pending.
Jean Mensa, the chairperson of the Electoral Commission, emphasized the EC’s preparedness for the elections during a meeting with the National Elections Security Taskforce.
“As we speak, all our registers have been prepared, and they have been disseminated across the country. We are also near completion with our ballots for the presidential and parliamentary polls.
“All the ballots, except the Northern, Bono, and Bono East regions, have been disseminated to our police armories across the country. I am well aware that the ballot papers for these regions will be disseminated to the police armories this afternoon.”
The National Election Security Taskforce’s leader, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, also pledged the security agencies’ dedication to a peaceful election.
“In our readiness, we want to say that we will protect every Ghanaian and every stakeholder in this election to ensure that the election is executed to the benefit of Ghanaians to ensure peace.”
