Voting in the 276 seats for the presidential and parliamentary elections scheduled for December 7, 2024, is now over.
At their assigned polling centers, voters eagerly exercised their right to choose the nation’s future president and parliamentary representatives for the 9th Parliament during the early Saturday morning polls.
The electoral process has been characterized by the Electoral Commission (EC) as trustworthy, transparent, and peaceful.
Reports from different sectors, however, point to a number of electoral irregularities as well as isolated violent occurrences.
Attempts to sway the election result have been leveled at both the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The ballots are currently being sorted and counted as the polls have closed.
