John Mahama sworn in as Ghana’s President

Following a landslide victory in the general elections of 2024, John Dramani Mahama has formally taken office as President of the Republic of Ghana, commencing his second term in office.

On January 7, 2025, the historic swearing-in ceremony was held in Accra’s Black Star Square, where a large number of citizens, political leaders, and dignitaries participated in the historic event.

Upon being sworn in by Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo, Mahama, the leader of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), reaffirmed his dedication to serving Ghanaians and upholding the Constitution.

The electorate gave him a broad mandate and demonstrated their faith in his leadership after his resounding victory in the elections held on December 7.
