The composition of Ghana’s Appointments Committee, which is responsible for vetting and proposing candidates for ministerial and other high-level positions, has been authorized by the parliament.

First Deputy Speaker Bernard Ahiafor will lead the committee, and Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah will be the vice chair.

Patricia Appiagyei serves as the Deputy Ranking Member, and Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has been appointed as the Ranking Member.

Examining candidates nominated by the President for important positions, such as Ministers of State, Deputy Ministers, and other positions as required by the Constitution or applicable laws, is the Appointments Committee’s crucial duty.
