On Monday, February 17, 2025, the Ghana Football Association will meet with Accra Hearts of Oak SC and Asante Kotoko SC to go over the remaining recommendations that the two clubs submitted to the Association.

It is important to remember that the GFA has already addressed every safety and security concern in the suggestions through the recently unveiled Enhanced Matchday Safety and Security Protocol 2025, which has subsequently been distributed to the clubs and all Premier League partners.

It should be mentioned that the Autonomous Premier League, which was created by the FA President with support from the Executive Council, has already been registered as a company with Ghana’s Registrar of Companies. The Implementation Committee, led by His Majesty Togbe Afede XIV, opened the league’s bank accounts.

Since the directors of the 18 teams would be the only ones to replace the Implementation Committee members on the Board, the Association has effectively given the Premier League clubs control of the Autonomous Premier League firm.

At one point in the process, each Premier League team was required to nominate a director, who was their legitimate board representation, to serve on the board of the Autonomous Premier League Limited.

As a supporter of the Autonomous Premier League, the Football Association is keen for the teams to advance the implementation.

The Association is excited to meet with Asante Kotoko SC and Accra Hearts of Oak SC to discuss their outstanding proposals in more detail.

In addition, the Association anticipates holding another meeting with all of the Premier League clubs next week to discuss the Ghana Premier League’s Enhanced Matchday Safety and Security Protocols and other matters.
