10 Finalists selected for MTN Heroes of Change Season 7

An incredible milestone has been attained by MTN Heroes of Change Season 7.

Ten finalists have been selected by the panel following five months of thorough evaluation.

These outstanding people and organizations are ideal examples of selfless service, giving freely of their time and resources to better the lives of those in their communities.

Judith Kokui, Linda Donkor, Martha Opoku Agyemang, Angela Dwamena Aboagye, Gideon Hopeson Zege, Sakina Mumuni, Valeria Adzatia, Emmanuel Sallah, Mrs. Richeal Adom, and Yaw Rockson Adangabey are the finalists. The MTN Foundation’s focus areas of economic empowerment, health, and education are all represented in the work of the ten finalists.

Selected TV stations will broadcast the finalists’ projects in the upcoming weeks so that people can observe how they are improving lives in their areas.  Three category winners and the overall winner would be chosen by an impartial panel at the conclusion of the TV show. While the other three (3) category winners would each receive a GHS 50,000 cash reward, the ultimate Hero of Change for Season 7 would earn GHc100,000 to support their efforts. Nominators whose candidates place in the top 10 will additionally get GHc 5,000, while the other finalists will receive cash and citations.

Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer Adwoa Afriyie Wiafe made the following statement in response to this milestone: “the MTN Heroes of Change initiative celebrates extraordinary individuals who are making a remarkable difference within their communities. These are everyday heroes who often go unnoticed, dedicating themselves to improving the lives of others. Through this project, we aim to shine a light on their inspiring work and motivate others to engage in acts of impact and positive change by employing innovative solutions to address community challenges.”

Heroes of Change’s seventh season debuted in September 2024. More than 2,000 applications from both people and institutions had been received by the time the entries closed on October 18, 2024.

About 5 million people have been directly influenced by the more than 178 significant projects in the fields of education, health, and economic empowerment that the MTN Ghana Foundation has undertaken since its founding in 2007; numerous others have been indirectly impacted.
