Police arrest 3 suspects for robbery and murder of MoMo vendors in Ashanti

Three suspects have been taken into custody by the Ashanti Regional Police Command in relation to the murder and robbery of two mobile money vendors in the region.

The suspects, Samuel Addae Mensah, 42; Phillip Fordjour, 29; and Charles Kwame Danso (also known as Kwame Charles/Miami), 23, were captured on March 21, 2025, in the Pankrono and Atimatim regions.

The arrests come after two distinct incidents:

Patricia Nimako, a mobile money vendor, was robbed and killed in Krofrom on Thursday, February 13, 2025.

Gideon Owusu Sarong, often known as Junior, was robbed and murdered in Kwadaso on Monday, March 10, 2025.

DCOP Emmanuel Teye-Cudjoe, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, announced during a news briefing that the accused are being held for prosecution.

A fourth suspect, Martin Amoah (also known as Augustine Amoah/Baba Macho), is also on the loose, he disclosed.

Amoah may be hiding in Accra, Diaso (near Dunkwa-on-Offin) in the Central Region, Kumasi, or Dunkwa-on-Offin, according to authorities.

In order to ensure that justice is done, DCOP Teye-Cudjoe requested the public to come forward with any information that would result in the fugitive’s capture.
